7th and 8th grade photos

This was Jill Spring in of her 7th grade year. New dress and nice weather made me want to play around with my camera!

Showing some attitude.

My favorite of her as a young girl. Carefree and young!

8th grade pictures. This has turned out to be a big year for her. She got accepted in to the Amarillo Youth Symphony in September and had her first concert "on the big stage" in November. She has a lot of 'lasts' in middle school this year as we get ready for High School.

It comes naturally for her to be this beautiful :)

I told her to think of something funny that happened at school, and I caught her during a genuine laugh. Her days must be hilarious.

Serious pose.

We had a lot of fun in that Downtown alley!

Probably my fav of hers. Ever.

Jill,
I know you don't even know about this blog. Where I am about to get personal.....So when you do read this, just know... That I love you with all my heart. And even thru all the bumps in the road you and I have faced, just know that when your path presents to you some more bumps, I will always have your back to help you make it thru them. I admire your courage during some not so great times in your young life. You came out with your head held high and with no shame or regrets about your choices. I look forward to the High School years and in the same I don't. It just means you are growing up too fast. I want you to slow down and make some great memories in the next 4 years. I cant wait to go prom dress shopping with you, make mums and garders with you. Meet the boyfriends and stay up late eating ice cream in case one of them breaks your heart. I cant wait to meet all the new and exciting adventures the next four years will greet you with.
I love you. And of course thank you for going with the flow to make your pictures come to life like I had imagined they would. They tell a great story about you. I look forward to many more candid moments and school pictures!

Love,
Mom

Taking the plunge!

It was summer 2011 and I feel in love! I had always wanted one. It would have been my first time with one. And after I saw it, there was nothing else I could think of.  My husband bought me my first Canon Rebel! I have always had a small point and shoot at my side for many, many, many years. Now it was time for the big toy. There are many more lens and memory cards and batteries and gadgets and bags and flashes and lens and straps and lens covers that I need....(just to name a few items on the wish list) But for now I love playing with this camera. I have enjoyed catching candid and not so candid moments on it. I love the people I have had in front of it and dream of many, many more to snap, shoot, capture, and make memories for.  I decided to take the plunge and start a business. A "go back to work" ploy if you will. Whats that old saying?... "Do you what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life"....pretty sure I am doing just t...

Photographers often work crazy hours: they’re up late in the evening editing, sending emails, and working on their websites. However, it’s important to set your schedule and stick to it. It will give you the opportunity to fit in hobbies and family time, as well as meet your strict deadlines without feeling overwhelmed.   --- Source ShootProof Blog Often times I have great weeks where everything runs smooth. Other times its hectic and I never feel like I will get it all done. Clients, whether they are family or friends, come first when I sit down to work. I like to say I have business hours, but in all honesty I work until I have product in hand to my clients. Even if that means going to bed after midnight or working on a Sunday morning.  I do try to find that balance in running an at home business and do my best not to let it interfere with my family. Cause in the short and long of it, they do come first. I have the privilege to work from home and grow my busi...

Filing and making and filing and setting up galleries and getting a number... I Amarillo Photographer

I've been busy, ya'll!! I filed with Potter and Randall. I have a Tax ID. I am starting to feel more and more like a business!! I have had some hiccups along the way, but I have learned EVERY successful person/business has some bumps in the road! Fortunately for me it isn't about how many "likes" or "mentions" I get, but it is about loyalty to me as a friend and business owner. I have repeat clients. I have family and friends that call on me to capture a sweet moment for them. And I have made friends along the way. Unfortunately, I have lost friends along the way. But were they really my friends to begin with? Probably not. And that's ok!! I want to say THANK YOU a million times to everyone that has stood in front of my camera and has given me the opportunity to capture life and make it stand still. And for referring me to your friends and also coming back again and again to let me capture more memories. There are A LOT of photographers in m...
